The festival will go forward with the co-operation of the Best Western, the local library, and a lot of other great folks in Pilot Mountain. If you would like to register you can simply download the registration form from last year from the
website. If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to e-mail
Ken Bloom. If you live in the area, you might consider coming to the Saturday night concert.
If you think you'd like to try the bowed dulcimer and don't have one, there are two simple alternatives. We will have a few extra instruments for folks to use who want to try it. There is also a very simple and inexpensive alteration that you can do to an existing mountain dulcimer to make bowing possible. Let Ken know if any of you need any of these details.

This festival brings the best of the mountains including traditional mountain crafts, bluegrass and old-time music and workshops in guitar, fiddle, and banjo. All musicians are invited to join in the jam sessions around the square and everyone is invited to take part in the dancing on the square on Saturday night.

Spring Dulcimer Week begins Sunday, with afternoon registration and evening orientation. Classes meet Monday thru Friday. Small class size and plenty of personal attention make this an excellent opportunity for beginners to start out on the right foot, for intermediate players to freshen up their repertoire, and for advanced musicians to challenge themselves.
Evening activities include dances, a Wednesday evening gathering of local old-time musicians, jam sessions, song swaps and a Friday student showcase. A Thursday night concert features the Spring Dulcimer Week instructors.
It's not too late to register for all Spring Dulcimer Week workshops, including Hammered Dulcimer with Patty Looman and Steve Eulberg, as well as Mountain Dulcimer with Aaron O'Rourke.
