"Look out, Schnaufer -- Sunset Dawn's a comin'!!! Very lively and up-beat - very pleasant female vocals. Delightful. Everyone needs to hear their gospel medley!!! They need to create a tab book to go with it -- the songs are terrific!"

"Just thought I would put my oar in here about The Cincinnati Dulcimer Society's CD. I just got one recently along with Sunset-Dawn's CD, "Stone Soup." Both CDs are really great! I am enjoying them a lot! Of course Madge is a member of the group Sunset Dawn as well as the Society. She has an original on the Stone Soup album too: "How I love That Mountain Music." All three songs show her ability as a composer! Anyone who likes traditional music will like both of these albums, I'm sure."
-- Bob Bohlman
"Madge is the 'force' behind the club's CD......lots of people contributed, but Madge got the ball rolling, organized all the practices, set up the recording dates (was that ever fun...I had never been in a recording studio)... and wrote and sang two original songs on it.
For any of you who are familiar with "Grandma's Dulcimore" and "The Grandest Of All", those are but two of Madge's compositions......she's a great songwriter."

All tabs in this book are fingerpick-style and tuned in DAd.

"Music feeds the soul so keep playing."--Linda B.
"I bought her book of poetry (the 'first festival' poem and the poem to her husband are in it, along with many other equally enjoyable poems). Also her CD, Kindred Spirits...excellent ! And her one tab book on fingerpicking hymns. That was also wonderful...easy tab to follow. I would recommend anything she has. Would love to see (and hear) lots more of her."

Description:
Like the quiet existance of those who inhabit Appalachia, multi-instrumentalist Rick Brockner faithfully preserves the tradition of "mountain music" as a way of life he came to know while weaned and raised in his native North Carolina. Mountain dulcimer, mandolin, guitar, violin and fiddle are all represented in this java-pouring-porch-jam, as "Black Mountain Brew" challenges the popular notion that the best-tasting coffee is found in the big city.
List of Tunes:
Where John Used to Be -- Along Time -- Appalachian Funk -- Beech Mountain -- Rolling Downhill -- Mount Basie -- Country in the City -- Alexandria Arrived -- Time at Home -- Dance in the Square -- Sweet Clair -- Paddy and the Washer Woman -- Third of July -- Rowain County -- Ride Into the Sonlight
