Airs of Ireland

Traditional Irish Melodies

Airs of Ireland is a work that captures the graceful solace of 14 traditional Irish melodies, while embracing the simplistic beauty of the mountain dulcimer. Originally composed for the Irish harp, most of these melodies were written by Turlough Carolan a few hundred years ago. They are performed here on the mountain dulcimer with guitar, & hammer dulcimer.

Finally

It's primarily a vocal CD, but has electric dulcimer on some tracks and an autoharp (RAR) track adds color on a traditional tune called "Geordie". Other instrumentation is provided by some truly gifted people including Michael Bellmont and Rob Chirico, both brilliant, classically trained guitarists with very individual styles, and Lin Chirico on accordion (no trace of polka styles at all; very lyrical) and bodhran.

The style/genre is an eclectic mix of songs about love or, in one case, justice. There are jazz, traditional, and folk tunes. Three of the songs are awesome original compositions by Michael Bellmont; others feature great arrangements by Rob Chirico, as well as Rini's arrangements.
