Description: The Elf princess who falls in love with Aragorn (also known as Strider) played by Viggo Mortensen. Strider was a brave warrior who joins and defends the Fellowship.

Arwen's father was Elrond, Lord of Rivendell, played by Hugo Weaving. Elrond's father was human and his mother was an Elf. The only daughter of Elrond, Arwen is said to be the most beautiful of all living beings in Middle-earth. Born to an immortal life as an Elf, Arwen must chose between it or to forsake this everlasting existence for the love of the mortal Aragorn (Strider). In so doing, she dooms herself to die as a Human.

For her role in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Liv Tyler and the rest of the principal cast were nominated for Outstanding Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture by the Screen Actors Guild.
